Michael’s current body of work brings together images from all different parts of his life. Details from ancient art combined with images from his childhood, ancient architecture and images from other cultures and religions. Objects collected from around the world and yard sales sit alongside animals, birds and fish. Images come and go as the painting gets resolved, often leaving faded traces like memories.
Hyesseong is a Toronto based artist who emigrated to Canada from Seoul, South Korea. She completed her MFA in painting at Hong-ik University in Seoul. Central to Hyeseong’s artistic exploration is the concept of human scrutiny of a myriad of gazes. This vulnerability finds its voice in the recurring motifs of windows and doors within her art.
