Miriam Shimamura (b. 1976) is a textile artist based on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, whose work explores the intricate intersections of the natural world through highly detailed needlework and thread painting. Raised and rooted in the Pacific Northwest, her practice is inspired by coastal nature, and the interplay of moments in light and shadow.
