Wilma VanderHeide Artist Statement . I am very affected by trees with their strength and gift to us by creating oxygen. The “rooted to the ground” trees are to be admired. Within each tree there’s a history and life that inspires me to paint them with colour and texture that evokes feelings. I use an impressionist style of painting to share the serenity of nature in the landscape.
