Susan Szenes

Susan Szenes(1966-) was born & raised in Toronto. She has exhibited regularly internationally and nationally in Ottawa, Toronto, Halifax, Montreal, and San Francisco. Connecticut, and NYC. Susan has received Artist grants through the Ontario Arts Council and the Canadian Council for her Art as an emerging artist. Since elementary school, Susan as a child always drew and painted at home growing up, taking refuge with her art. Susan graduated with honors from George Brown College in Graphic Design and Digital Multimedia at Humber College. She had worked as a graphic designer previously, she returned to artwork after the birth of her daughter and the passing of her beloved father devoting herself to her art practice. My POPart series is a conscious artistic style of minimizing my carbon footprint, on my daily walks I gather materials for my artwork. Celebrating my city's working-class roots. Making my noise with the tools at hand. Some skills were initially gleaned from my tradesman father and utilized daily in my art to this day.
