Remy Bles
Growing up in rural Southwestern Ontario, I have been drawing and painting ever since I picked up a pencil. Observation was always my strength, and I clearly remember taking mental and physical notes of the natural beauty that surrounded me. After venturing off to Toronto and finishing my degree in Interior Design I decided to further my studies in Heritage Conservation at Willowbank School of Restoration Arts in Queenston, Ontario. My passion for design was always strongly connected to our Historical structures, therefore making my choice to pursue this inevitable.
Throughout my years of education, I never stopped painting and drawing in my spare time. After self teaching and visiting many other paint mediums, such as gouache, acrylic and watercolour, I fell in love with oil. My work reflects my love for architecture, design, and the natural environment.
I paint as a way of self expression, as well as in hopes to tell a story. All the little things in life are what make it so special. The evening light that shines through the trees, reading a book by an open fire, or the wildflowers that to our constant surprise, pop up after a long winter. This inspires and keeps me creating. I hope my paintings remind you of life's extraordinarily ordinary moments..
