Call for Exhibition Proposals for 2 Week Exhibition at Westland Gallery
Successful applicants will be granted an exhibition from JULY 18TH TO JULY 29TH, 2023.
We are seeking complete, cohesive exhibition proposals for a show from July 18th to July 29th, 2023, at
Westland Gallery. This call is open to artists and artist collectives residing in Ontario, Canada.
What Can I Submit?
A complete collection of cohesive, currently available artwork that would be ready for display from July
18th – July 29th, 2023. Exhibition proposals can include between 10 and 30 images. Please review the
Floor Plan and propose a collection to fill 50% or 100% of the gallery space. All mediums apart from
digital art, video, and sound can be submitted to this call.
Artwork can be by one artist, or a collective of artists submitting together. Artworks submitted by an
individual or collective must have a cohesive style or theme.
What Should My Exhibition Proposal Include?
1. Exhibition Proposal Summary
Maximum 500 words to describe the proposed exhibition and why you believe Westland Gallery
would be a suitable venue.
2. Professional Documentation
For Individual Artists: An artist CV, statement and/or biography
Must not exceed 4 pages, compiled into a single PDF document.
For Collectives: A list of the participating artists with a short bio/statement from each.
Must not exceed 4 pages, compiled into a single PDF document.
3. 10- 30 images
Images must be in jpeg. or jpg. format, submitted in a ZIP file.

Rules and Requirements:
• All artists must be above the age of 18.
• Artists and collectives may only submit one application each.
• Video, sound, and digital art are not eligible for this call.
• Submitted artwork must be reserved for the exhibition. No substitutions.
• Artists are responsible for shipping, delivery, and return of their artwork on the specified dates.
• Westland Gallery will receive 50% commission all sales.
How Do I Submit My Application?
All applications should be emailed to Westland Gallery Director Danielle Hoevenaars at
[email protected]. All documents and images should be compiled into a ZIP file.
Please ensure that your Name, Email Address, Phone Number, and Mailing Address are included. For
artist collectives, one artist should be the representative and include their contact information.

Important Dates
Wednesday March 29th: Applications open.
Sunday April 30th, 11:59 pm: Applications due. Late applications will not be accepted.
Wednesday May 17th: Artists will be notified of results.
Friday July 14th & Saturday July 15th: Artwork Drop Off Days
Tuesday July 18th to Saturday July 29th: Exhibition dates, with Reception date to be determined.
Saturday July 29th at 5pm: Artists must be available to pick up their artwork on this day and time
