Olga Cooper
Artist’s Statement
Olga Cooper, a resident of Wortley Village, London, Ontario, pursued encaustic art at the Southampton Arts Centre in 2013 and also later at the Alton Mill Arts Centre. A graduate of the University of Windsor, Olga enjoyed careers as an elementary teacher, school board trustee, and real estate sales person.
Olga’s pieces are inspired by nature at her cottage on Lake of Bays and her family’s farmhouse in the Beaver Valley. She enjoys the versatility, the wonderful texture and the gentle aroma of heated beeswax, damar resin and oil paint used in the creation of encaustic art.
Her pieces can be found at Matilda Swanson Gallery in Clarksburg and Stratford and also the Oxtongue Craft Cabin and Gallery in Dwight.
